Limited Account

This basic account is designed for small value transactions. The maximum amount that can be held in this type of account is £800 or equivalent. Applicants are not required to provide any personal details or documentation to open a Limited eAccount.

These accounts can be upgraded at any time by providing your personal details and supporting documentation. (Proof of Identification and proof of Residential Address) These accounts are ideal for those who have a poor credit history or have no access to the traditional banking system.

Individual Account

The Individual Account has been designed for more frequent use than the Limited Account and also offers the benefit of being a multi-currency account. This means that you can hold various different currencies within the same single account.

The maximum that can be held in this account is £10,000 or equivalent. Applicants will need to provide photo ID and proof of residence to apply or to upgrade from our Limited Account.

This account is of particular benefit when travelling or sending money abroad as you can conduct your own foreign currency exchange within the account at rates that are much more favourable than those available on the High Street and online currency exchanges. If you also have our MasterCard with this account, when spending abroad in a currency held in your account then you will not be charged the usual international usage fee. This, along with market leading exchange rates, means that the Mardica Zipp MasterCard is extremely efficient and can save you valuable money when travelling abroad.

Business Account

This account is ideal for businesses of all sizes and in all industries and marketplaces. Charges can be much lower than those found in the traditional High Street banks. Applicants will need to provide full details regarding the nature of their business, details of ownership, directors and any other relevant information.

For B2B payments, companies can make payments by a simple account to account transfer where both the companies have a Mardica Account or should one of them not have one, the other party is encouraged by the payer to get an account opened to benefit from the instant transfers available and with a relatively very small transaction cost in comparison to traditional High Street banks.

Multi-Currency Accounts (Individual & Business)

A multi-currency Account allows the account holder to hold balances in a multiple of currencies. (Click here to see a list of currencies supported at this time)
There are two very unique features to a Mardica Multi-Currency Account. Firstly, it is one single account that is capable of holding balances in a multiple of currencies. All other financial institutions have one account for each currency account they provide.

Secondly, currency accounts within the single Multi-Currency Account are created on the fly as required. For instance, if you have had no balance in Canadian Dollars and you exchanged your Sterling Pounds to Canadian Dollars, the system will create a Canadian Dollar account and hold the Canadian Dollars that you bought in that account. This facility is not available from any other bank in the world.

The foremost advantage of this multi-currency account is that it can be accessed by one card without exchange conversions being forced upon you when you spend using the card. If you were to receive a transfer in a currency in which you do not have an account, then the system will create an account in that currency on the fly to hold the money received without forcing a conversion. These aspects of letting you control the currency exchanges and not being forced into one provides great savings for you. There is no exploitation by keeping the whole process opaque like in the case of other branded cards.

All new Mardica Accounts are denominated to a ‘single currency’ by default and this depends on where the issuer is registered unless specifically agreed by Mardica Ltd. This means that your money is held in the member’s home currency e.g. British Pounds (GBP) for UK account holders.

If you transfer funds from a single currency account to another single currency account but with a different denominated currency the recipient’s account will be credited in the denominated currency of the recipient’s account by an automatic conversion by the system at prevailing rates. Account holders can upgrade their account to a multi-currency one by following a process in the website once they have logged in. This may entail a fee.

If you transfer funds from a multi- currency account to another multi-currency account, the recipient’s account will be credited in the same currency as it was sent unless otherwise that currency was not supported by the recipient member. The transfer is executed even if the sending account did not have the necessary balance in that currency but as long as the net balance in the multi-currency account determined as the sum total of the balances of all the currencies has adequate funds to cover the transaction or a suitable credit limit has been authorised by Mardica. Mardica may require any negative balance to be regularised within certain periods if this is not done by the account holder by deposit of funds in that currency or a suitable currency exchange made, Mardica shall have the right to convert any available positive balance to clear the negative balance. This will be implemented at the prevailing rates in the system.

Uniquely, a single card can be attached to this account for account holders to access their balances in a multiple of currencies wherever they are in the world on ATM’s, POS machines and mobile phones. The Mardica card is issued under the MasterCard and Zipp brand.





















Currency Exchange


Mardica Multi-Currency Account holders have the facility to exchange currencies for value at Spot and Forward rates. They will further be able to set Limit orders as required.

Mardica Zipp Prepaid MasterCard

The Mardica Zipp MasterCard really is unique in the prepaid card marketplace as the card is linked directly to your Mardica Account and does not need to be loaded separately. The card works as a traditional debit card and takes available funds directly from your Mardica Account. You can only spend funds already loaded onto your account so you cannot go into debt. Furthermore, if you hold a Mardica Multi-Currency Account, funds are taken from the account in the local currency (if held) thus saving you international use charges normally levied by the traditional High Street Banks.

The card can be used in ATM’s, online and for purchases at millions of locations in over 200 countries worldwide, wherever you see the MasterCard Acceptance Mark. You can have multiple cards
registered to your account.
